"J-Jack, what are you talking about? Are you saying that you saw me in a dream or something?" You got really stunned and shocked after he said that, you tightened the grip of your flashlight.
"No...At that year, I saw a little girl getting hit by a car....I-I thought she died since there was so much blood and everything."
"What? Why didn't you do anything then-"
"I did! I...I tried."

He explained to you everything he saw and did at that time. He was watching you while you went home, he wanted to make sure you would come home safe and not get hurt. At times he walked beside you talking, other times he would fly above and look around you for suspected "strangers". There was snow that was slowly melting on the sidewalk, the roads, on the trees, everywhere. He was about to go to a different place, but he saw you and figured that London could wait.

He had noticed a car that had troubles with it's lights, he tried shouting at you, telling you to watch out. But you didn't hear him, at that age, you never even heard of Jack Frost. It was like all sense had disappeared from him, he forgot about what would happen to people that didn't believe in him.
The headlights turned on, you stared right into them, and he rushed to pull you away from there. But as he tried to grab your arm, he just went through it, like a ghost. He forgot that people who don't believe in him can't either see him, hear him, or even feel him. He just stood there, watching the car getting closer, and hitting your paralyzed little body. He fell on to his knees, crying while the chauffeur got out of his car, dialing 911 while holding you. All his tears turned into a puddle of ice, that was the only sign of his presence at that time. That puddle caused an accident the next day, but fortunately no one was seriously injured. The tires from the car smashed the puddle into pieces, leaving a dark mark of the frozen tears behind.

Winter was gonna end in a few days, but the accident made him break down. He made it snow non-stop for over a week, and Winter stayed for another 3 months in Pennsylvania. Most of the time there would be blizzards, snowstorms, and hailstorms. But sometimes, the snow would fall so peacefully, slow and calmly, like it was crying with him.
The snow in other places started to melt, because he was in Burgess at his home for a long, long time. But he became better after the Groundhog cheered him up. Of course, the Groundhog was a little annoyed predicting that spring would appear, when Winter was still there. He was actually just doing his job, making sure Jack would stop the snow and leave. It made Jack feel better though, and he let spring arrive as he went to other countries, trying to make up for everything by giving the best snow days ever.
He would still from time to time mourn over your "death", but meeting Jamie and becoming the guardian and all made him slowly stop thinking about it.

He never wanted to forget about it though, so he had taken something that would remind him about the accident. A few months ago this year, he had seen you when he was gonna meet up with Jamie. He felt...attached to you somehow, so he followed you sometimes when you and Jamie hanged out. But he never noticed that you where blind. You acted, talked, and seemed like you had perfect vision, so it really stunned him when he found out.

"...You..you sure that it wasn't someone else?" You asked him with a shaky voice. The story he told you made you tear up a bit.
"I'm pretty sure...But just to be extra sure." Jack took out something from his pocket with his right hand, and showed it to you. It was a pink headband with a glittery snowflake on it.
"This is yours, right?" He asked as he gave it to you, letting you feel the sensation and patterns of it. You remembered the feeling from when you took it off in your dream.
"...Yeah...t-this is my headband..." You said really shocked. "Did you take it?"
"...Yeah."
"But how?"
"It had fallen off your head, and I was able to grab it...I thought that I could keep it...a-as a memory." He said nervously. You kept feeling it and noticed that there where some dry liquid on it, it was blood. Apparently he never cleaned it, he assumed that if the blood was gone, he would forget easily of how he got it. He kept it as fresh as possible though, making sure that it wouldn't get dirtier as it was. "If you'd like...you could have it back..." He said with guilt and slight embarrassment.
"I don't need it, it seems to be more important to you now anyways." You replied with a warm smile as you gave it back. It made Jack blush a bit, he always found your smiles adorable and makes his heart flutter. He took it, looked at it for a few seconds, then put it back in his pocket.
"Thanks ______, I promise that I will always keep it clean, and that I will never throw it away." You could practically feel the heat coming out from his icy smile. Now it was his turn to make your heart flutter. You have never felt someone's smile this warming, especially from a winter spirit that supposed to be one of the coldest things alive.

You noticed that your flashlight started to flicker, you reached in your bag to get new batteries.
"Oh god..."
"What is it?" He noticed that you started to get really nervous and worried.
"My flashlight is out of batteries....and I don't have any more."
"Oh. You want me to take you home?"
"...How was it when you checked the house?"
"Dark, really dark."
"...She doesn't want me there then. She wouldn't have turned off the lights otherwise."
"Oh..uuh, how about this? I can drop you off at the second floor, and let you into your room. That way, your mom won't know that you're there. And when you wake up...I can pick you up again, and we could spend the day together. Sounds good?"
"..Yeah, I supposed that's actually good for now." You started to smile sadly, but you soon became a little scared since it got even darker. Jack noticed, so he picked you up and flew you home.

You climbed through the window, and set you feet gently and quietly on the floor. The lights where on in your room, and you wondered why your mother never turned those off.
"Goodnight ______, I'll pick you up tomorrow at....at 7 AM, does that sound okay?" You nodded and smiled, you where too scared to talk, afraid that your mother would hear you. You touched his shoulder lightly (Thank god it wasn't something else), and waved goodbye to him. You then felt a heavy but quiet gust, signalizing that he has taken off. You closed the window lightly, and laid on to your bed. Before Jack went home, he noticed that the house was fully lit again.

You heard the door open, and it literally felt like your heart wanted to rip itself out and run away.
"Hun? I thought I heard you up here, how did you get in?" It's scientifically proven now, you got your hearing from your mother.
"I...I sneaked in."
"But I was downstair in the living room all the time."
"E-eeh.." 'What should I say? It's not like I can tell her the truth. It's not like I can say "Oh, Jack Frost, the winter spirit picked me up and dropped me off through the window, so I wouldn't bother you." I'd never be able to tell her that...'
"I don't care how you got here, I'm just so glad you came back home." You heard footsteps getting louder, and you felt a warm hug from her. "I am so sorry for saying all those horrible things to you. I love you, I love you so much, you're everything that I have and love. Please, understand that I was just stressed, and that I didn't mean what I said at all. Please...I'm so sorry sweetie.."
"...." You hesitated, but hugged her tightly back. "I know mom, I know you didn't mean it. I...I forgive you." She lied, you both knew that what she told you was right, she does hate you. But it was also the truth that she was sad and that she regretted telling it...and that you where all she had.
"Thank you hun." she gave you a kiss on the forehead, and tucked you in. You may be at the age where you're old enough to do things on your own, but your mother still treated you as a child. She didn't treat you as a bad kid, but as a child that she loved and took care of by tucking in, feeding, helping with clothes, and cheer up. Besides, you enjoyed it a lot most of the times, it always made you feel better.
"Goodnight ______."
"Goodnight mom." A few seconds later, you heard the door close, and you where alone in your bright room. Your eyes got heavier, and you went into a deep slumber.
