"Alright that only took all day, but they're gone now. Good job, guys"

Did I mention that Maya's actually a soldier? Or protector or whatever, SHE GUARDS THE ISLAND WHICH SHE AND THE OTHERS LIVE IN.

Let me explain: Hundreds of years ago, humans somehow started getting animal features, and since a lot of people are racist and such, they got banished to a big empty island. They managed to live life very well, even smuggling things from other places to build homes and other electronics. Anyways, now all of a sudden, a new generation of humans figured that these people could be worth a lot of money. So they on occasion go to the island in order to capture some, and those who gives them a hard time get's killed. They have a couple hundred soldiers that guard the edges of the island, Maya being one of them.
She's best from a distance, so she's a sniper. She's good with aiming at big targets, so she uses a rocket launcher. She's usually in very high places, and she can easily jump down if humans try to ambush her.
She's not the only soldier by the way! Jason is one too, and so is Jacob, Maro, Jirou, and even Yua!
